About Mamapalooza

Supporting Mamas West of the Twin Cities Since 2018

It began with four women who have a passion for helping women through the child-bearing years and beyond. Seeing a lack of collective information for mommas west of the Twin Cities Kateri Kormann (Tiny Crow Doulas), Sundee Kuechle (Tiny Crow Doulas), Brittany Koch (Litchfield Chiropractic) and Katharine Ostrowski (Urban Nettle) decided to make this a reality.

February 2018 was the first initiation of a “Momma Support Session.” Gathering women of all ages from mothers supporting daughters to pregnant women themselves this quartet of ladies created an informational round table discussion on all things mama related. The first session included lactation support, doulas, chiropractic care and herbal care providers.

Since then there have been tri-yearly installations of these mama support sessions. Mamapalooza 2019 will be the first “official” conference with vendors and prenatal and postnatal specific roundtable discussions.

Free to all. We hope to see you there!

Dr. Brittany was born and raised in Hector, MN. She attend Northwestern Health Sciences to pursue her Chiropractic degree. It wasn’t until Dr. Brittany became pregnant, herself, that she realized just how POWERFUL chiropractic was. Dr. Brittany utilized chiropractic regularly throughout her own pregnancy and even during labor. Frankie Jr. Koch was born at home naturally and Dr. Brittany accredits her regular chiropractic care for the beautiful birth she experienced. The amazing benefits Dr. Brittany experienced throughout her pregnancy fueled the fire to help and empower more women through prenatal chiropractic care. She is Webster Technique certified and also a member of ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association). She continues to broaden her knowledge base through seminars and technique courses, especially in prenatal and pediatric care.

Trained in Traditional Western Herbalism under Lise Wolff (2015) and Connie Karstens (2016) as well as Traditional Southern Folk Medicine with Phyllis D. Light (2016, 2017 & 2018) Katharine’s herbal studies began in 2009 as a forager and advanced to full fledged herbal student in January 2015.

Originally a blog Urban Nettle opened as an official business in January 2016. Ever since she has been working with clients, making herbal care products and teaching classes.

The addition of postnatal products came in 2017 after the birth of her daughter. Though she was lucky enough to have incredible postnatal care through a home birth she began hearing story after story of other who were not so fortunate. Seeing a void she began researching, testing and started crafting her own postnatal care products and added them to Urban Nettle brand.
